Excerpt from newspaper 7/21/1974 -

"Historic Eden church holds Ground breaking Ceremony"

The members of the church decided at that meeting (6/24/74) to go ahead with plans for the new church. Phase I of the project, which includes the insulated shell of the building, concrete floors and footers, partitions, some of the building, concrete floors and footers, partitions, some of the doors, paneling, ceiling, wiring and heat, one bathroom, light fixtures for the sanctuary and rough plumbing for the kitchen and bath, as well as the altar rail and pulpit, is expected to cost just under $25,000. The metal shell of the building is expected to be in place by September 1.

Phase II of the project, which includes the kitchen, carpeting, framing of Sunday School rooms and kitchen, five more doors, lights, landscaping, sanctuary furniture, floor covering for the fellowship hall and rooms, the remainder of paneling and ceiling and the steeple, is expected to cost $7,325. This phase will come later.

Labor for the project will be volunteer. Excavating, grading and pouring of concrete footers and the concrete slab will be done by members of the church before August 15, when the contractor will begin the concrete and steel shell. Completion of the insulated exterior is expected to take only 15 days. The building will be 40 feet by 100 feet in size.......

Note: On may 18, 1975 a Service of consecration was held in the church.

Mrs. C. H. Fry was honored at Homecoming in 1980 for 46 years of service as the Superintendent of Sunday School.
